Chatham Village Apartments' July Activities in Orange County
The Chatham Village Apartments community center is hosting more visitors lately as usual resident services begin to resume. Safety precautions and disease prevention is at the forefront of priorities for Martha Venegas, our Director of Services in Orange County. Within July, Martha hosted a handful of community activities to bring a sense of what is to come at Chatham Village Apartments. Martha hosted an Independence Day party and brought back the highly anticipated Kids Club.
The weekly Friday food distributions have always been a heavily attended event hosted by Martha and in July, the residents appreciated the continuous support. Our local food partners at Second Harvest Food Bank, Tustin Family and Youth Center, Meals on Wheels Orange County, Tustin Community Foundation, and the City of Tustin provided the much-needed food supplies distributed to 275 households.
Before the 4th of July holiday, Martha held a special Independence Day celebration with some Chatham Village residents. Ten residents arrived to share in the summer festivities and kick off their weekend celebration early. Residents of all ages were busy creating Independence Day-themed puppets and wreaths out of paper while conversing. Martha and Chatham Village Apartments management also provided light snacks and juice for those who attended.
The youth's favorite Kids Club returned last month to the community room! Designed to keep kids learning and active, the Club has been meeting for more than two weeks, and the kids are having fun! Airing on the side of caution, Martha is ensuring safe distancing by dividing the kids into smaller groups. With school starting up again, the Kids Club will look to help kids with their schooling and offer after-school tutoring and homework help.
